PIKO 40524 - N diesel locomotive V160 DB III

Novelty 2022: Variant of the BR 216 in the version of a BR V 160 of the DB in Era III. In the 1960s and 1970s, the V 160 and 216 series were the express train locomotives for routes without contact wires on the Federal Railway. The model of this important vehicle type not only closes a gap in PIKO's N range, but will enrich many model railway systems from eras III to V with its numerous variants. The development team has implemented the distinctive shape of the model in the model with outstanding quality and at the same time achieved ideal driving characteristics. These attributes are underlined by the effective use of perfect engravings and a paint finish that is consistent down to the smallest detail. Contemporary LED technology serves as the basis for changing the light to red and white. The Next18 digital interface is state-of-the-art and a decoder can be easily plugged in.

The model is based on the first series machine of the Federal Railway's V160 series in the classic colors and lettering of Era III.
Striking distinguishing features are the standard bogies, the roof without a silencer, the straight frame front of the standard machine and the modified front grill.
