The LokPilot 5 Fx micro and its "twin" LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC are versatile function decoders with a Next18 interface on a base area of 13.0mm x 9.2mm. They are used in all vehicles of nominal sizes N to H0 that do not have a motor output but should still be able to switch light effects.

Operating modes

The LokPilot 5 Fx micro is a multi-protocol decoder. It supports the DCC data format as well as Motorola® and Selectrix®. In the DCC format, 14 to 128 speed levels are as natural as 2- and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. With the help of RailComPlus® technology, the decoders register fully automatically with a suitable digital control center.
It supports all DCC programming modes and can be both driven and programmed with compatible digital control centers: Thanks to RailCom®, it is possible to read the CV values on the main track with suitable control centers. There are auxiliary registers for control centers that can only program CVs from 1-255.
Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed levels with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses enable 16 functions to be triggered. A built-in programming mode also makes reprogramming possible with the venerable Control Unit 6021.
The LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC "only" speaks the DCC protocol, but can also be automatically registered with the corresponding control centers using RailComPlus®.
The LokPilot 5 Fx micro decoder recognizes the Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with direct current is also possible. In addition, it also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An ABC shuttle train automatic enables automatic commuting between two stations. Although this decoder does not have a motor output, this is also important for a function decoder in order to be able to synchronize the control car and the motor car.
The LokPilot 5 Fx micro decoder can be used on analogue direct current and alternating current railways; the LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC on analogue direct current railways. The decoder switches between the operating modes fully automatically "on the fly". In most cases, nothing needs to be set.

Functions

The LokPilot 5 Fx micro or LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC has been equipped with an astonishing number of function outputs. There are 6 amplified function outputs, each with 180mA output current, as well as two logic level outputs for servos or Susi. The brightness of each output can be set separately.

Interaction

LokPilot 5 Fx micro are designed to work with the LokSound 5 and the LokPilot 5 decoders: For example, it is possible to equip the locomotive of a multiple unit with a LokSound 5 micro decoder and the control car with a LokPilot 5 Fx micro. Provided they have the same address, both behave absolutely identically. The identical arrangement of the CVs makes it easier to coordinate the two decoders.

Operational safety

If required, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 Fx micro and LokPilot 5 Fx micro DCC to bridge dirty track sections.
