The locomotive 50 849 was built in 1940 with the factory number 16058 by the locomotive forge Krauss-Maffei in Munich Allach. After 1945 it remained in the Soviet occupation zone and thus with the German Reichsbahn. Finally, after leaving the scheduled service, the Zwickau 3/75 "Railway Tradition" working group, founded in 1979, took over the freight train locomotive. They transformed the run-down machine back into top optical and technical condition. In 1980, the 50 was taken over into the DR's heritage park. Among the many special train assignments, it was also used as a train locomotive for the carriage set known as the "Zwickau Traditional Train". To this day, the rolling and fully preserved museum locomotive has its home in the Glauchau engine shed and is lovingly looked after there.
